Varberg Norra
- our first solar power plant
Halfway between Gothenburg and Halmstad, visible from the E6 highway, is Solgrid’s first solar power plant. The ground-mounted PV plant, with an installed capacity of 4.8 MW, is the first step to position the company in the Nordic market. Solgrid has chosen to install bifacial solar panels for optimal power production. About 9,000 bifacial solar panels are expected to produce 5.3 GWh, which corresponds to the annual consumption of approximately 2,500 electric cars.

Furuseth Solar Power Plant
- First solar power plant licensed in Norway
In May 2022, Solgrid received the first license for a solar power plant in Norway, hitting a milestone for the development of large-scale solar power in the country.
The facility is located in Stor-Elvdal municipality, half an hour’s drive south of Koppang.
The ground-mounted facility will be located next to Highway 3 (Riksvei 3) on an area with a gravel quarry and scattered pine forest.
The solar power plant has a similar design to our first plant in Sweden, and has an installed capacity of 7 MWp.
Expected annual production is 6.4 GWh, which corresponds to the consumption of around 10% of households in the municipality.
